Successful Appearance at Ausbildung 49 – Strong Interest in Our Apprenticeships

On May 16 and 17, 2025, we took part in the Ausbildung 49 trade fair at Halle Gartlage – and we look back on two exciting and successful days. With a dedicated team, we proudly represented Lacroix + Kress GmbH and showcased our wide range of apprenticeship opportunities to a diverse audience. Over 5,300 visitors took advantage of the opportunity for targeted career guidance.

One highlight was the particularly strong interest in the apprenticeship program for materials testers (m/f/d). Many students took the opportunity to speak directly with our specialists and learn about the tasks, requirements, and career prospects of this varied and important profession.

“I didn’t expect so many students to ask such specific questions about materials testing. It’s great to see how much interest there was in our profession – and to be able to show just how exciting and vital our work is for the industry.”
– Jannik, Quality, Trainer for Materials Testing at Lacroix + Kress

Our team also provided insights into our production processes, products, and the everyday work in our various professional fields. The focus was on personal, authentic conversations at eye level.

“It’s always great to see how curious and motivated young people are. Events like this show just how important it is to provide orientation and real insights early on.”
– Simon, Electronics Engineer at Lacroix + Kress

For the 2026 training year, we are offering apprenticeships in the following professions:

  • Materials Tester (m/f/d)
  • Industrial Mechanic (m/f/d)
  • Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering (m/f/d)
  • Industrial Clerk (m/f/d)

We would like to thank Ausbildung 49 and the entire organizing team for giving us the opportunity to take part again this year. The exchange with young talents, parents, and teachers was extremely valuable – and we’re already looking forward to receiving applications and welcoming many new faces to our team.

Future Day at Lacroix + Kress – A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Copper Wire Production

On April 3, 2025, the annual Future Day took place at Lacroix + Kress, where students from grades 6 to 8 received an exciting insight into the world of copper wire production. The day was specifically designed to provide children with practical experiences and to introduce them to various career fields and areas of activity within the company. The five students were able to learn about the vocational training professions of industrial mechanics, materials testers, electronics technicians, and industrial clerks (m/f/d).

The children were allowed to participate in several interactive stations. A highlight was the factory tour through the dipping mill and wire drawing installations, where the students experienced first-hand how fine wires are made from copper plates.

Another important part of the day was the visit to maintenance and quality assurance. They learned how important it is for production to run smoothly and that the quality of the products is always guaranteed. The children found it particularly exciting to work with wire and solve small tasks themselves. The crafting of a small solar model, where the children could playfully learn about renewable energies and their application, was particularly enjoyed by the students.

The visit to sales and distribution gave the children a comprehensive overview of the various areas of the company that go far beyond production. They found out how Lacroix + Kress interacts with its customers and what role sales plays in marketing the produced wires. The students also got to know our products better, which are used every day all over the world.

The feedback from the participants was consistently positive. Especially the factory tours and the practical activities at the various stations were very well received. The students had the opportunity to learn through their own actions and experiments, which made the day an unforgettable experience.

We are pleased to give young people an insight into the world of technology and production and to promote interest in technical and commercial professions. The Future Day was a great success – and we hope to welcome many curious students again next year!

Rosenmontag at L+K in Neunburg: Carnival doughnuts create a good atmosphere! On Rosenmontag, the highlight of the Carnival season, a touch of Carnival also made its way into L+K in Neunburg. On this occasion, Carnival doughnuts were distributed to all employees for the first time – a sweet surprise that made the festive time even a little cheerier. The doughnuts filled with apricot and currant jam brought smiles to the colleagues’ faces and provided a little boost of motivation on that day.

The pensioners were looking forward to a reunion and a lively exchange with their former colleagues, and of course also to a farewell bouquet of flowers and a gift basket.

We would like to thank our pensioners for the stimulating evening with many funny episodes from past years and wish them all the best and above all the best health in the new phase of their lives!

Digiscouts project of the RKW Competence Center – Our apprentices were there!

As part of the Digiscouts project of the RKW Competence Center, our apprentices in the training professions of materials tester, industrial clerk, electronics technician and industrial mechanic had the opportunity to take their digital skills to a new level. The project supports young people in understanding digital technologies and using them creatively.

Our apprentices actively participated in the project again this year and digitized the ball bearing of the dip rolling mill. The ball bearings were sorted into new shelves and recorded in a digital list according to the numbers. The current stock was counted and entered in the list, which enables the employees to find the required ball bearing more quickly and to enter withdrawals directly. Thanks to the current stocks, employees can see directly when the stock is too low and can order in good time.

Participation in this project has enabled our apprentices to gain valuable experience and broaden their career prospects in the digital world. The tasks and team projects promote the use of digital media, and they also develop entrepreneurial skills. We are pleased that we were part of this future-oriented program and are therefore even better prepared for the demands of the modern working world.

The project is accompanied by the RKW Competence Center and its coaches. In addition, as part of the presentation of certificates at the closing event, apprentices and apprentices had the opportunity to compete in an exciting race at the BattleKart in Dissen.

If you have any questions about the project or the apprenticeship at Lacroix + Kress GmbH, please contact Svenja Meßbauer (karriere@lacroixundkress.de).

4th Tuchmacher City Run in Bramsche

Bramsche hosted the annual City Run on September 20, 2024. Under sunny skies, athletes  from all age groups gathered to participate in this sporting event, including our 5 employees who ran for us in this competition for the first time.

Beginners and experts on the track together

The City Run covered a variety of distances, giving both novices and experienced runners the opportunity to show off their skills. Our runners participated in a 5 km coporate run. All of them finished it successfully – congratulations!

Conclusion: A complete success

The 2024 City Run was not just a sporting event, but a celebration of community, togetherness and motivation. Overall we were happy to be in 8th place. We are grateful to our colleagues who have been so strong in this competition and hope to continue to be represented by such motivated colleagues next year, too.  We are already excited about what the City Run will bring in the upcoming year.

On September 4th – 5th, 2024 and September 10th, 2024 we were exhibitors at the BOP (Berufs-Orientierungs-Parcours) training fairs at the Bramsche Realschule and the ZAB (Zukunft-Ausbildung-Beruf) at the TMS Osnabrück.

The apprentices fairs gave us the opportunity to present our company and have exciting conversations with students, parents and teachers.

Our various apprentices courses provoked great interest among the students. Each of us was able to report on his/her tasks and, refer about the experiences we gained during our training. This year we noticed a particular demand on further information about an apprenticeship as industrial electrician (m/f/d), but also as industrial clerks (m/f/d).

The parents of the students were also able to get an idea of the companies and the training they offer, therefore get an overview of what their children can expect.

We would like to thank the Realschule Bramsche and the TMS Osnabrück for the opportunity to meet so many enthusiastic young people and of course for the very good organization and food.

We are still offering 2 training positions for 2025:

– Industrial mechanic (m/f/d)

– Industrial clerk (m/f/d)

We look forward to receiving your applications! For any further questions about training or an internship at Lacroix + Kress, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

The summer festival at L+K is almost part of the company’s tradition. All employees and their families as well as former employees were invited,130 participants in total. The works council once again organized this special event. Because of the mixed weather, the social gathering took place in the company building. Despite the cool temperatures, the children had a lot of fun and ran around the outdoor grounds on pedal go carts.

As an additional attraction face paints were offered for children. In order to accommodate their rush and impatience, a painting area was set up where they could while during waiting time.

“Excellent hospitality” was everyone’s feedback. Especially the Biebl butcher shop from Neukirchen deserves this praise. They spoiled us with the following dinner: Roast with dumplings, Viennese Schnitzel with potato salad, Gyros with coleslaw, Spaetzle and salad buffet as well as vegetable lasagna. Furthermore our employees donated beautiful and yummy home-baked cakes. A big thank you to all the donors.

A succesfull celebration, perfectly organized by the members of the works coucil, ended around midnight. Everyone is already looking forward to the next summer festival.

Our annual family festival took place on Saturday, August 31, 2024. It was a blast! Under sunny skies around 200 employees from Lacroix + Kress GmbH, Essex Solutions (previously Essex Furukawa Magnet Wire) Germany GmbH and their families met on the Essex Solutions company premises in Bramsche to enjoy an afternoon full of fun, games and community.

Games and fun for young and old

The event offered many different activities suitable for all ages. From bull riding to a reaction game, which was provided to us by the Techniker Krankenkasse, to a bouncy castle. There was something for everyone and obviously kids and adults had a lot of fun.

Your physical well-being also needs to be taken care of!

Because the all-you-can-eat pizza buffet was so popular last year, we decided to offer it again this year. The pizza truck had different types of pizza available, so there was something for everyone’s taste.  Refreshment was also well provided with a selection of cool drinks. A special highlight was the ice cream truck, which offered a delicious way to keep yourself cool in hot weather.

Boost the team spirit

The family celebration not only offered the opportunity to get to know colleagues better outside of the work environment, but also strengthened the solidarity within our company. It was nice to see employees and their families spending a great afternoon together and having a lot of fun.

Thank you!

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this special day. We are already looking forward to the next family festival. The chance to create even more beautiful memories.

The Future Day on April 25th, 2024 once again impressively demonstrated how exciting and varied technical and commercial careers can be. In addition to production management, the day also included insight into the maintenance, sales, quality and purchasing departments. The eight pupils were able to get to know the apprenticeships of industrial mechanics, materials testers, electronics engineers and industrial clerks.

Guided by the employees, the girls and boys were also able to test their own skills at different work stations and exchange ideas with our apprentices and trainers.

The aim of Future Day is to improve the future prospects for children and young people. Girls and boys are encouraged to examine their traditionally different professional world experiences and to receive new impulses.
